College Introduction

Government APWA College for Women Lahore is situated in clean building on Ghaus -ul-Azam road (Jail Road) Lahore.  The college was founded by All Pakistan Women Association (APWA) in 1958. At that time the college offered classes for Intermediate. In 1964 the college was upgraded to a degree college. The college was nationalized in 1972 after which it went under a major expansion. In 1974 science classes,  1992 B.Sc. and from 2000 I.Cs. classes were introduced.

Under the order of Education Department of Punjab  since 2003 second shift classes have been started. To help students stand on their feet, commerce subjects were introduced in the intermediate classes. Currently 91 teachers in 24 departments are performing their duties in the college.

Government APWA College for Women has a glorious educational history. For the past many years various science and arts classes are getting a 100% results. This is the result of the continuous efforts and discipline of the teachers and the hard work of the students.  For the physical, mental and ethical education of the students the college also organizes various extracurricular activities. The college students also take part in intra college declamation contests and stand out in every field.  With the help of Punjab Information Technology board, in 2000 a computer section has been setup. For the last 35 years the college is publishing “Hareem e Adab” a literature gazette.

Government APWA College for Women Lahore is making continuous efforts for the students who take special interest in their education. College principal and the teachers welcome them.
